We are looking for a successful and enthusiastic sales and event planner to join our team!    Someone who can plan and detail out meetings and events, communicate those details to other departments in the hotel, and then ensure everything comes together to provide an extraordinary experience for our guests.  The Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates meetings and other special events and activities with accuracy and detailed communication for the client and hotel departments
  • Coordinates menu arrangements that maximize the revenue potential for the hotel, while serving the needs of the client
  • Coordinates all details to appear on Banquet Event Order including meeting room set-up, menu, audio/visual and billing details
  • Coordinate all details pertaining to rooming lists
  • Assists client with off-premise activities and details
  • Distribute final rooming lists and banquet event orders to all applicable service staff and reservations manager
  • Ability to analyze client needs and negotiate pricing and client requests
  • Ability to conduct successful site tours and pre-con meetings
  • Prepare and send requested proposals and contracts to potential clients
  • Meeting clients upon arrival and prior to departure to ensure all details of the contract are being delivered
  • Research market, identify event opportunities and generate interest
  • Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality
  • Develop new and grow existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through prospecting, outside sales calls and cold calls

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an event planner or organizer
  • This can be an entry level position, depending on background and experience
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Sales skills and ability to build productive business relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Previous hotel experience is preferred
